Flying Commercial Airlines

We are fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to fly big jets to four different continents. Most recently we have travelled on a 777, a 747, and a 787 (our favorite!).

Flying Young Eagles

Last year we got the opportunity to fly with EAA Young Eagles. We get to fly on many types of experimental aircraft all by ourselves, no parents allowed!

Flying RC Airplanes

Because we aren't old enough to fly an airplane yet, our passion is flying RC Airplanes. We fly at our local park, or at AMOS.

our Favorite destinations?

Mom and Dad take us all over the place whenever we have a school vacation. (And sometimes even when we don’t!) My mom keeps runs a website of her own, all about our travels!

Aspiring Pilots!

Meet Roy & Greg
two brothers hoping to one day be pilots.

information

ask roy & greg

Greg: The Piper Cherokee is the best RC Airplane. It doesn’t get blown around by the wind. It is also capable of doing stunts. I find it very relaxing to fly if you are on “safe” mode.

Roy: The best RC airplane to fly is my FMS P-51 Mustang Reno racer. It gives you top speeds of roughly 95 mph and can sustain high speeds for eight minutes. This is pretty much unheard of because the other planes of the 1100mm size class to go that fast are EDF jets and they are much shorter flight times (around 3 minutes).

Greg: I don’t have one yet, but I think the Spektrum NX7E is the best radio. I like it because it is white, which is my favorite color. It is also cheaper than the Spektrum NX8 but it can still do the same things.

Roy: The best overall RC radio is the Spektrum NX8 because it gives you the most features for the price including Hall-Effect gimbals, a bright screen, and rubber grips. I share the NX8 with Greg.

Greg: When you fly it in the dark, and you have lights, and you are not in a cramped area, you are totally fine. I have flown the Air Tractor, the Night Vapor, and the Piper Cherokee at night in a park near my house.

As for wind, for planes that are very light, like the Night Vapor, it can only handle 1mph. As for other planes, they could handle like 7 mph wind without a hard time.

Greg: Well, always a 787 of any brand. But my favorite airline so far has been United. A 787 is new, and the windows aren’t boring shapes, and it has a lot of new technology. And I like playing chess against Magnus. I beat age 6.5 Magnus at chess last month.

Greg: My favorite airport is San Francisco International Airport (SFO) because I know it well and it always means we are traveling somewhere far and fun. I like to play on the moving walkways before we board our flight. I also like the free honey packets at the shop in the International Terminal.

Roy: My favorite airport is Lincoln Karl Harder Field in California. (KLHM) They have an awesome EAA Chapter and a lot of Young Eagles flights. I have had the opportunity to take-off and land there (with help).

Greg: The best way to entertain yourself is to use the onboard entertainment system. You can also use your Nintendo Switch until your parents make you put it away and go to sleep. My brother and I also like to look out the window or, if we have to, read.
