Germany in December
While we didn’t fly into Germany (we drove there), we did fly home via Germany. What an experience that was. There were 42 passport checks that we had to go through, as well as “pop up” ones between the restroom and the gate! Our flight from Frankfort was delayed significantly, and the Boeing-747 was barely able to take off. (We thought it left part of the plane behind based on all the noise!)
The Christmas Markets were fun though!
From the sweet wafting smells of candied almonds, cinnamon sugar, and other sweet seasonal pastries to people cradling warm mugs filled with spicy mulled wine (Glühwein), all amidst vibrant, colorful, twinkling displays of lights…

Things We Liked in Germany:
Greg: The Kinderpunsch. Hands down. Greg was disappointed that there was a speed limit for most of the Autobahn but he did enjoy all the BMWs.
Roy: Also the Kinderpunsch. Amazing. The tour of the Berchtesgaden Salt Mine was fun as well. Particularly the slides. It was also because of me that we flew home on the 747. I really wanted to fly on one before they wound up in a museum and Lufthansa seems to have a lot of them!
