I am sure some of you might be wondering how we survive all of these long flights. Little do you know that the flight is actually our favorite part! We don’t care where our parents take us, as long as we get to spend a bunch of time getting there.
When we boarded the A350 from SFO to Copenhagen, we were seated in the second to last row. Immediately Roy determined that his in-flight entertainment was broken. This became an immediate crisis. While Roy yearned for a window seat, he was not about to accept a malfunctioning screen. Thankfully, mommy was paying attention to the lady sitting behind us who had been split up from her three kids. Our mom quickly offered that the three of us switch with her three kids. This was a win for everyone involved. The three of us were ‘upgraded’ to row 55 (instead of 57), and Roy got a working screen. The lady got to sit with her kids. All was right in the world.
Our flight departed on time, and we watched the departure from the nose camera. Searching through the games that were available, I immediately found the slot machine. My parents have told me that I am naturally lucky. I may have a gambling addiction based on past experiences at Chuck-E-Cheese. Anyway, I played the slot machine, racked up all kinds of digital currency while Roy watched, until my dad noticed and made me stop. I can’t wait for the return trip where I can hopefully continue to play undetected.

The meals were served and Roy got a gluten free meal that he thought was delicious. I had a kid’s meal complete with a Danish Kit-Kat. I ate that first. I think that the main course was chicken nuggets, but you can never be too sure what was being breaded. After dinner Roy attempted to watch ‘Dunkirk’ and listen to his music, while mom watched Law & Order episodes on her phone. I was left to fend for myself, so I went back to gambling because daddy was now asleep.
All of us took numerous trips to the bathroom just to stretch our legs and have something to do. I recommend that you do this to break up a long flight. One time, when we flew KLM, they even let you serve yourself drinks and snacks!
Eventually I watched the movie, ‘Hopper’ which was about a Beaver. Roy watched it too but without his headphones so he just watched the subtitles.
Somehow a few hours from landing Roy and I fell asleep which was something we swore that we wouldn’t do because this was a daytime flight. We both slept through breakfast. Roy was upset that they took his gluten free rice cake with roasted vegetables on it away. He would have never eaten it anyway.
And that is how we handled a 10-hour flight across the country and the Atlantic Ocean!
